Inspirations of the Metaphoric Mind
begins with Beautiful Painted Arrow’s explanation of
how all forms, "the two-leggeds, wingeds, plants, trees,
mountains, rivers and even seasons" are metaphoric symbols
from which we can newly discover meanings for our everyday lives.
He presents many of his original paintings and demonstrates the
philosophy of his principle ideas through this exquisite visual
symbology. Beautiful Painted Arrow’s extraordinary
outlook on life as demonstrated through his philosophy alongside
his art work is an enlightening experience for the body, mind and

Passageway to the Infinite Self Drawing on the
teachings of his grandfather, a Tiwa Pueblo holy man, Rael
presents an extraordinary understanding of life through metaphor
along side experience. In the film, Passageway to the Infinite
Self, Rael tells his vision that all existence is vibration,
and then moves into the concept of the wall and how the walls of
our personal experiences are actually passageways to find our
inner knowing. The whole idea of the wall is shown by Rael to be
a tool for understanding what we already "know" and
keys to unlock our own highest potential. The film begins with a
reenactment of a holy ceremony with Joseph as a young boy and his
Grandfather in a ceremonial chamber. He watches his Grandfather
walk through a wall and return carrying sacred herbs. The
ceremony teaches him the meaning of vibration. This philosophy
moves into the concept of the wall and he imparts to us teachings
of life using this beautiful metaphor. (Approx. 20 min)

Sound Beings
Joseph Rael was brought to the home of his father’s people
at the age of eight and was raised at Picuris Pueblo in the Tiwa
tradition. Tiwa is an oral tradition that imparts a metaphoric
understanding to life through the sounds of language. Through his
many years of study Rael has found the same metaphoric principals
apply to all languages. His philosophies of the beings of sound
are applicable to our daily lives and help us to find The Divine
in our every word and action. In Sound Beings, the power
of language as experienced through the metaphoric realms of sound
is imparted to us through Beautiful Painted Arrow’s enlightening
teachings and chanting. The vibration of language is revealed to
be a creative force that allows us insights into higher levels of
consciousness. Rael endows us with an inspiring message and an

Ceremonies of Awakening In Ceremonies of
Awakening, Joseph Rael gives us insight into three sacred
ceremonies including the Fire Ceremony, the Sundance and the
Sweat Lodge. He begins by explaining how the Fire Ceremony was
gifted to him in a visionary experience and then teaches us the
gifts that this ceremony can bring to our awareness. He explains
the Sundance from the unique perspective of what the sundancer
experiences and how the Sundance can take us to higher levels of
knowing and actually awaken our gene pool. He also helps us to
